UPDATE

Hello sweet angel babies♥
Just wanted to give a little update here, but first I want to thank you all for the kind words and patience with me<3
It truly warms my heart so much to know that people here care about my health ;u;
ANYWHO, I am doing a lot better now that I am on Insulin therapy and managing my T1D.
I just had my 3 month update Dr appointment, and my Dr is really happy with my management, and says my Blood Sugar Levels are beautiful LOL♥
She also said I am a good candidate for an Insulin pump and I go back in 2 weeks to talk more about it!
Also she is making some calls to try to help me get some coverage to get a CGM (continuous glucose monitor).
If you're a Type 1 Diabetic, you understand just how exciting this isDay100 - Squealing by Blobicons
I'm headed out today to get blood work done, and getting my HbA1c (my 3 month average blood sugar).
Wish me luck! My Dr is confident that the results will be great♥

Aside from all that progress, It has been hard dealing with this chronic illness and just getting used to it.
It's hard physically but also mentally.
I have days where I just cry because the thought of me having this for the rest of my life, and possible complications in the future is terrifying and depressing..
This chronic illness really takes a lot out of ya, but I am trying my very best♥

Hope you're all well, and again, thank you for your patience with commissions and art trades!
I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON ALL OF THEM and I apologize it has been so slow ;n;

Hello everyone, long time no see!
I'm not sure where to begin here... I have been trying to figure out exactly how to tell you all what has been happening with me in my life,
and I don't think there is a perfect way to say it... I just want to make sure I am expressing myself fully!
So... here goes nothing.

Some of you may have saw my last journal about having significant stress in my life with a new job and trying to manage art.
Not many commented on it so I'm unsure if many of you will be reading this or not ;n;

Lets start from the beginning shall we?
I have had recurring infections for 7 years now, on top of that my eye sight has been a mess.
I was 20/20 and was super far sighted, but these past few years i cannot see anything far and have a hard time reading.
I have also been suffering from migraines and body pains, specifically my knees ;n;
I always felt tired, lazy, hungry, and just down right bitchy.

Aside from all that, I have had some incredibly alarming symptoms for the past 2 months, but I didn't think anything seriously.
EXTREME thirst, I mean seriously I could not stop drinking water all day long, and thus was urinating every 15-20 minutes.
I have lost 20 pounds without exercise, my hair has thinned out, I was drinking a crap ton of pop like 4 cans a day? Craving sugar sugar sugar!

On November 6th I had the thought to check my blood sugar levels (There is a Type 2 diabetic in the house who has a blood glucose meter).
To my surprise, the meter read "HI" ... well that cant be good!? Google said that means my sugar level was so high that the meter couldn't read it
(so it was probably well over level 30... a normal reading should be 5-7).
So I decided to cut all my sugar, drink plenty water and see if it comes down naturally.

The next day, November 7th, I had to leave work early, only 2 hours into my shift actually.
I work as a cashier, and for some reason I was feeling extra tired and confused... I would forget money I was counting and stuff.
I knew something was really wrong, and asked to leave.
When I got home I checked my sugar again, and I was 23.8

I decided to go to Emergency since my Family Doctor is an hour away and I don't drive.
I was there for 5 hours and they were doing extensive blood work, urine test, a test to see my blood sugar readings(cant remember the name) and had me on IV fluids.
Tests came back and doctor told me he is positive I am diabetic, and most likely Type 1 since they could not get my sugar down.
Before they let me leave, they gave me an insulin shot.

On November 8th I saw my family doctor, and was confirmed Type 1 Diabetic.
I met with a Diabetic team as well that day and they showed me how to use all my new equipment.
Since then, I have had to cut out all sugary goods, watch my carbohydrates, take my insulin and track my blood sugar levels.
I am scheduled to see the diabetic team in my town tomorrow, and they will be setting me up with a routine, and a target carbohydrate plan and insulin.

It has been extremely stressful, and I am still trying to cope with it all.
My life has completely changed with the flick of a switch...
To those who do not know, Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease and is not curable.
they do not know 100% what causes it.

I have copied and pasted this here for a more proper answer:

What is Type 1 Diabetes?

"Type 1 diabetes is a chronic, autoimmune condition that occurs when the body’s own immune system attacks the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas.
This attack leaves the pancreas with little or no ability to produce insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar. Without insulin, sugar stays in the blood and can cause serious damage to organ systems, causing people to experience Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). "

How do you get Type 1 diabetes?

T1D is neither preventable nor curable and while its cause is unknown, studies prove that T1D results from a genetic predisposition together with an environmental trigger.

There are two main types of diabetes:

  • Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an incurable, auto-immune disease, not a lifestyle disease.  T1D accounts for roughly 10% of the more than 420 million global cases of diabetes, and people with Type 1 are insulin-dependent for life.
  • Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body cannot properly use insulin, also known as “insulin-resistance,” and can often be treated through diet, exercise and medication.

It is so hard to explain, but I basically need to learn how to live all over again.
I am now insulin dependent, and need to be very aware and involved with my health and well being.
I have been off of work this week, and of course i have not had the time/energy/emotions to work on art either.
I hate to stress about the owed art and people being impatient... trust me I get it and feel so anxious to get your art to you!

I'm very sorry for the huge inconvenience, I hope you all can understand!♥
I will try my best to get my art done.
Much love to all of you

PS: November is Diabetes awareness month, so please spread some awareness and Love💙

TL;DR - Newly diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic, on November 7th 2017.
